Off-Color Barytes

In many applications, dry grounded off-color barytes can be an economical alternative to white barytes with a high brigthness. These products are the perfect solution for all applications non-critical in regard to color, but still requiring a controlled particle size distribution and a guaranteed high density.

White Barytes

The white barytes offered by Sachtleben Minerals GmbH & Co. KG are characterized by a high brightness and a guaranteed low yellowness. They are color neutral due to their low refractive index. They hardly contain calcium carbonate, offer a low electrical conductivity and guarantee a low binder demand. Due to their low silica content they hardly cause any abrasivity, what results in decreasing maintenance costs and increasing equipment life times.

Paints, floor coverings, filler and pigments, pigment preparations, primers and putties, adhesives,   plastic, rubber, glass and polishing agents.

Albasoft 110

Wet grounded white barytes: produced of selected raw materials by chemically bleaching up to a guaranteed premium high brightness. Specially dedicated to applications with high requirements to gloss. Therefor we produce finely grounded specialties which be characterized by their narrow particle size distribution.

Range of use:

Utilizing Albasoft-grades will enhance the mechanical and optical properties as well as the gloss positively. The products increase the hiding power of a recipe and allow pigment replacement partly. They are highly suitable as a filler for elastomer.

Albasoft 110 is successfully used in top coats as well as fillers and pigment preparations. By using a special preparation and refining process, this product can replace synthetic barium sulphates even in bright and high gloss applications. In thermoplastics, this product enables the partial replacement of colour pigments and masterbatches.

Albasoft-Produkte beeinflussen die mechanischen und optischen Eigenschaften sowie insbesondere den Glanz positiv. Für Elastomere sind sie besonders gut als Füllstoff geeignet. Sie erhöhen das Deckvermögen und den Glanz und erlauben teilweisen Pigmentersatz.

Albasoft 110 wird erfolgreich in Decklacken sowie Füllern und Pigmentpräparationen eingesetzt.  Durch das spezielle, einzigartige Aufbereitungsverfahren ist diese Spezialität für den Ersatz von synthetischen Bariumsulfaten in Anwendungen mit hohen Anforderungen an Helligkeit und Glanz geeignet. In Thermoplasten ermöglicht dieses Produkt den Teilersatz von Farbpigmenten und Masterbatches.

Albawhite 10 dient zur Mattierung unterschiedlichster Pulverlack-Typen. Geprüft wurde die mattierende Wirkung in einem Hybrid-System (60/40) sowie in einem PUR-System. Die Einsatzkonzentration der Bariumsulfate lag bei 30 Gew-%. Albawhite 10 lässt sich einfach und unkompliziert einarbeiten. Bei einem Messwinkel von 60° können systemabhängig Glanzgrade unter 70 erzielt werden. Albawhite 10 ist besonders gut geeignet für Co-Extrusionsverfahren.

Albawhite 10 can be used for the matting of various powder coating qualities. The matting effect was tested in a hybrid-system (60/40) as well as in a PUR-system. Albawhite 10 can be inserted easily and straightforward. The concentration of barium sulfate applied was 30 weight-%. Depending on the system it is possible to achieve a gloss level below 70 at 60°. Albawhite 10 is suitable for co-extrusion processes very well.

Fleur/EWO

EWO (wet grounded white barytes): produced of best raw materials by chemically bleaching up to a guaranteed high brightness. EWO can be used as an absolutely colour stable alternative to synthetic barium sulfates. This product is characterized by its stable brightness, its chemically resistance and the high purity.

FLEUR can be a commercially interesting alternative to EWO. Both products are guaranteed free of calcium carbonate.

Range of use:

Due to the high purity level of EWO this product is favourably used for top-quality primers, anti-corrosive and latex paints, in putties, pigment preparations and floor coverings as well. EWO increases the hiding power in standard powder coatings and provides for a partial pigment replacement.
The product is widely used in plastic and rubber: for plastic it is used as a color-neutral and chemically resistant filler.
The unique production process for EWO guarantees a low yellowness and therefor the product can be used for colour-sensitive systems with a high long-term stability (e.g.: PVC-films and joint sealings). EWO has an outstanding dispersability in plastisol and UP-resins. Due to the low coarse grit-level superior synthetic surfaces are achievable.
